Welcome to the official site of Balintawak Seattle

Balintawak Seattle was established in 2008. It was the first Balintawak school established in Washington State and the leading proponent dedicated to the Filipino martial art of Balintawak Eskrima in the Pacific Northwest. The original group consisted of a select group of individuals who trained out of the garage of Guro John Soriano. In 2011 the group moved to the Filipino Community Center of Seattle with additional training groups established throughout the region.
Balintawak Seattle is a proud member of the International Balintawak Organization headed by Grandmaster Bobby Taboada. As a regional affiliate Balintawak Seattle is comprised of training groups in the following Washington State cities: Bellevue, Bellingham, Bothell, Covington, Marysville, Olympia, Renton, Seattle, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver. Please see our "Community Links" page for instructor contact information.
Our mission: "To preserve and promote the art of Taboada Balintawak Eskrima, support the martial arts community, and be a positive example - advocating friendship and brotherhood."
